Mr men and little miss go to marina barrage

Last Sunday, little miss one, little miss two, little miss three and mr four went to marina barrage as a family.

Little miss two recognized the place immediately. 'where is this place?' she asked as we rolled into the carpark. And as soon as she asked she exclaimed 'marina barrage!'

Breakfast was abit sad. We had to wait 15 min for the staff to clean the floor and when they were finally done we were given an unimpressive menu to choose from.

(Oh no little miss three is crying. All cos little miss one bathed in the toilet of the bedroom she was in. Sleep sleep little miss three.)

After we filled our tummies we moved around the building. The exhibition was pretty good. The section with the glass floor felt scary for l-ms two and she clung onto l-ms one as she walked across the room.

The best part was definitely the water play area. L-ms two took off her skirt and happily walked around in her tshirt and underwear. She had a ball of a time splashing around and lying face down in the water. By the end of it she was soaked through and I- ms one had to buy her a new super-big t to change into.

L-ms three had her share of fun being carried around cos there was no place for her to crawl. She pretended to sleep everytime the sun got too hot and opened her eyes the moment we got into the shade. That was hilarious.

We got home at 12.40. Tired but very pleased

SUPER overdue update

Testing a new concept of updating my blog through my iPhone. So much has happened and it has not been offloaded from my head i am so afraid i'd forget.

The little one is growing up so fast - she can crawl over terrain, stand, sleep on her own, eat solids and makes the most beautiful cooing sounds. She also has bad habits of chewing paper and crawling into the mess of wires under my computer (especially when we doze off and she wanders around the room on her own in the early morning). One of the nicest moments are she realizes that mummy is awake from her nap and crawls back from under the computer table and quickly scurries towards mummy with a wide grin.

The older one has grown more mature, is potty trained, can read her alphabets, count to 10(sometimes even 25 but in some random numerical system just to sound smarter). Wenyin is quite a wiz with her words. She recently coined the words twogether, threegather and fourgather. The numerical prefix denotes the no. of people in a hug. Three-gather when chin, wy and I huddle for a hug, four-gather when ch also joins in.

The two of them are starting to be more aware and accepting of each other's presence. Chenhui loves to crawl to her sister whenever she hears her voice. Wy picks up things that ch drops from her high-chair and talks to her as one of us.

Life is good.

Frolick

Daddy chin, Mummy xiu and wy went to tampines 1. After eating lunch, we went down to the basement to take a look. Wy remarked 'mummy i want to eat something!' 'But you just had lunch!' noted mummy xiu... heh. wy was tempted by all the goodies in the basement so we went to frolick for yummy original frozen yougurt with loads of fresh strawberries.

Ha ha

Last night, we put wy to bed
(as usual)
As mummy xiu and daddy chin were about to leave the room, mummy xiu walked back into the room (to adjust the fan position)
At that moment, wyy called out
'Mummy (don't forget) your phone!'

Mummy xiu often leaves her phone lying around. Now even wyy knows and has to remind mummy.

Little Miss Somersault

Chenhui flipped over yesterday! No one saw it cause muumy xiu and daddy chin were busy getting ready for work on a monday morning. Only when daddy chin peered on the bed did he realise that Chenhui was on her tummy.

Wow! This morning, Chenhui did again! 3 times!

Good job Chenhui.

Marina barrage

wyy: kaitlyn cannot say 'ma -li-na ber-lage'. yin can say 'ma -li-na ber-lage'

Mummy xiu made an appointment with Mummy Nak to bring the 2 girls to Marina barrage on a Monday. ( A priviledge for mums who don't work). In the morning Daddy chin told wyy that she was going to marina barrage and before I knew it, she was saying it... and kept commenting that kaitlyn (who was 5 months younger) would not be able to do so.

She enjoyed herself... only slight problem was the loud pump room that faced the main courtyard.Wyy kept saying she didn't like the machine sound. So mummy xiu had to 'ca-lly'

Tai tai lifestyle

Tai tai lifestyle for a week!
I'm going back to work next week and we got a new maid to help.
And since M is here, and I have to 'train' her to make sure that chenhui is in good hands, I basically don't do much. Just observe.

Well, sorta tai tai cos since I am free, I busy myself with settling M's work permit, bringing wyy out, house matters, writing in the blog, bringing dumpling to my mum's, going for my exam seminar. I think I just cannot sit still.

I am so glad that M is here. Leaves me more at ease to work. Really if N was the only one taking care of both kids and the house I would be worried. It would be really tough.

... so free that I can think about whether I should perm my hair or rebond it.

Training

So i'm starting on the sleep training.
Day 2 today. Day 1 was rather good, but today was tough.
I hope it is the 'extinction burst' and it will get better tomorrow.
Sitting in the room and listening to her cry can get rather frustrating and make one go crazy.
If i was not stronger I think this sleep training can easily lead to post natal depression.

If not for the success of wenyin's sleep training i don't think i can do this at such a young age.
But i truly believe babies can sleep on their own. That happens in infant care i'm sure. Else they would need a 1-1 baby caregiver ratio just for naps.

Wish me luck.

Been a while since my last post.
What has happened?
Was down with fever for 3 days... due to blocked milk ducts
Rushing the 24 logsheets
Then realised the case study was due... and was totally stressed over that.
Then had a bout of food poisoning.

Finally it is all over.
Wei wei has signed the logsheets and case study.
Now for Tony to sign and then the client to sign.
Before 15 May.
I think i have time.

Have abit of time to blog. Wah!

Confinement is over!

Chen hui is now 1 month old The confinement period is officially over.

No more black date tea, no more bathing in herbal water, also no confinement nanny to take care of me. And it is time to slowly get back into real life.So for a start, we decided to go for our regular Sunday breakfast. Rather successful even though i was abit tense throughout the breakfast... not used to the sling and was worried if chenhui was comfortable chilling out there. Chenhui slept (phew) and we ate. Even wenyin was a good girl and ate on her own. We think that her having her own plate of sandwiches made her feel like a big girl.Spent some time at the beach too.

Jaundice problems again... sigh.

Chen hui has been seeing the doctor for the last 2 days for her jaundice.

Unfortunately, she has BOTH breastfeeding jaundice and the normal jaundice bringing her jaundice level to 19.6...

Doctor ordered for phototheraphy sessions at home.

This is going to be chenhui's bed for the next 3 days.

Poor thing.

This photo was taken when she was wailing. She would cry so hard that her head would hit against the top. I would too if I had to sleep under the UV light and have a plastic sheet instead of a foam mattress.

She has since settled down and gone to sleep. Phew.

I guess she could get used to this.

Fooled again

I started having contractions last night at about 7pm and i thought to myself... finally the little(2) one has decided that mummy's little space is abit too small and decided to get out.

I might actually have to stop waiting and get to go to the hospital! So eagerly with the bags packed into the car, I sent the jm concert tickets to the respective owners - the 20-year old girl that got the ticket from me through ebay and the whole stack of tickets to SL who lived nearby. By the time i finished the errands the contractions were still not regular so it was time to go home and wait.

... and wait... in the morning the contractions were about 7-10 mins apart so that was great! But suddenly after i walked into the clinic... the contractions stopped.... it became more like 30mins apart...

NOOOOooooooooo!
Anyway, doc said though the baby is ready, my body is not. So, if nothing happens, i'd be going for my c-section tomorrow.

Time flies.

The last entry here was in May 08.

Wenyin is now a super adorable and talktative 25month old toddler...

I'm on leave again awaiting the arrival of chenhui...

Thought it was a good time to restart the blog.

See how the two sisters will/ will not bond with each other.

I do enjoy looking back at the earlier posts to see how wenyin has grown (with no hair... to some charlie brown hair... now she has a beautiful head of curly locks.)


Watch this space...
